I just sold my kitchenaid and purchased this machine a few weeks ago. I love it so far. A few things I love are the suction cups on the bottom so that the machine stays in place as it works on bigger batches. I recommend you store it on it's side, (there are rubber pads on the side to store it this way.) It seems like if you store it flat the suction cups will wear out faster. It is a more compact design than before, which is nice, but I am hoping it will hold up like other models have. A lot of people complain that there are a lot of pieces to clean, I don't mind the cleaning aspect, but virtually everything is dishwasher safe if that's an issue for you. (I always hand wash mine because I think it holds up better.) It's a larger capacity mixer and does a better job with my doughs than any other mixer I've used. . Buying Bosch MUZ 4 FW1 01 Meat Grinder with 4.5-Millimeter Perforated Disk

I just purchased this unit for my Bosch Compact kitchen machines (I have two!) and discover upon very first use that it grinds meat quickly and superbly as others have reported.

While grinding beef chuck,the last very last piece of meat in the batch pushed down the tube did not squeeze through the perforated disk, causing expensive waste - which is why I don't give it a perfect score. Maybe I will eventually discover some trick to make that last piece of meat go through the grinder completely - perhaps I should have chosen the highest speed.

Make sure to clean, dry, and oil the blade and disk according to the instructions. They tarnish and rust very easily. I discovered this fact the hard way while letting the disk soak in dishwater too long.

I look forward to use of this quality product for years to come, and experimenting with it for pates, terrines, and a variety of other recipes calling for ground meats. I have additionally invested in the berry press attachment for the grinder, which I expect to arrive soon.

I had mine for more than 5 years. I bake a lot of cookies, especially at the holidays. I also used it for mashed potatoes and other mixing jobs. It handled everything pretty reliably, even double batches of cookie dough.

The glass bowl is heavy and very nice. The beaters eventually got little rust spots on them (I live where the water is very salty). The spinning rotating cuff for the bowl went lopsided after about 4 years. And finally, one beater stopped being twirled about by the motor.
